Money

Pilot math students are doing a great job learning about coins. Using literature, our math books, and a hands-on approach we are working towards properly recognizing each coin. We are also learning the appropriate value for the penny, nickel, dime and quarter.

Fantasy and Realism

7th Age readers did a great job using a graphic organizer to creat a fantasy and realism chart for our new story "Julius"
In groups, the students needed to go through the story and find situations that could really happen as well as ones that could not really happen.

Job Well Done!

Today we finished working with the ee and ea vowel pairs! Take a look at your child's hard work in the pink books that will come home at the end of they day.

Due to the 6th Age play we will not have reading again until Thursday.
Good luck readers! Break a leg!

Telling Time

Today we started working with clocks to tell time.
We discussed that the shorter hand is the one that tells the hour and is called the hour hand.
The longer hand tells the minutes and is the minute hand.

After the hands-on experience we moved to our chapter to complete written work.

Long e Zoom Game

We played "Zoom" using long e words. You have to turn to the person next to you and say a word with the long e sound. Then you keep going all the way around the circle.

Great job readers!

Long e word web

6th Age readers did a great job creating a long e word web. Each person holds an end of the string, says a long e word, then passes the yarn to a new friend.
Our end result was a fantastic web of sounds!

Days of the week song

In our current chapter we are exploring time. This includes sequence of events, calendar, days of the week, months, and seasons. Soon we will move to basic time (hours, minutes) using real clocks to provide a hands on approach.

Below we sing one of our favorite songs about the days of the week.
