We have started working on contractions. Today we worked on reading and writing contractions.
A contraction is when two words are made into one using an apostrophe. I tell the children that the apostrophe helps to "smush" the words together. We have seen a few contractions in the recent stories we have read. Today we worked with the following contractions:
I will -I'll
She will- She'll
He will- He'll
We will- We'll
They will- They'll
You will- you'll
It will- It'll
