-op Family

-op Family Game
We used our fine motor skills to cut out beginning consonants that would help us create -op family words.
Above you see two of the words we created. In this sequence I said "If this word says mop, please make it say top". By taking away the "m" and replacing it with the "t" /t/ students successfully created the new word.
After we completed this game, we were ready to read the story "Mop". Once by ourselves, then all together (choral reading), and finally with a partner (alternating reading aloud by page).

Bravo Readers!

Number Memory

Pilot Mathematicians did a great job playing number memory with the numbers one through ten. We had to recognize and say the number aloud each time we turned a card over.
We all had great success finding a match!
We did such a great job, we decided to get a bit more comfortable!

-ot Family Slider

Sixth Age friends were able to slide the beginning consonants to create new words!
We read: pot, got, lot, cot, jot, hot, dot.
Then we put each word into context by using them in a sentence!

Short "o" /o/

Sixth Age readers are doing a phenomenal job with their short "o" phonics book!

Bravo!
