"Lasso Lou and Cowboy McCoy" was a really silly story! Cowboy McCoy decides to become a cowboy but he has no idea how to be one! He makes many mistakes as he attempts to live the life of a cowboy. He puts the saddle on his horse backwards, wears his cowboy boots to bed, and can not seem to figure out how to use his lasso. We really enjoyed this book. Thanks for sharing!
"A Mama for Owen" by Marion Dane Bauer
We loved this true story about Owen the baby Hippo who was separated from his mother after a flood washed the family down the Sabaki River. A tsunami wave brought Owen back to shore. Owen was brought to a nature preserve and chose Mzee the tortoise to be his mother. Mzee was a 130-year-old male tortoise who loved his new role. What a heart warming story!
