-op Family Game
We used our fine motor skills to cut out beginning consonants that would help us create -op family words.
Above you see two of the words we created. In this sequence I said "If this word says mop, please make it say top". By taking away the "m" and replacing it with the "t" /t/ students successfully created the new word.
After we completed this game, we were ready to read the story "Mop". Once by ourselves, then all together (choral reading), and finally with a partner (alternating reading aloud by page).
