Reviewing Vowels and Consonants

We have recently discussed the difference between vowels and consonants. We can define and recognize each type of letter. We even know the two different sounds that each vowel makes! As a fun activity we used our names to search for vowels and consonants. We circled the vowels and underlined the consonants. Which child had the most vowels in their name? You will have to ask the 6th Age readers to find out.

A great extension of this lesson: Continue to engage your children through environmental print. Ask your son or daughter to find the vowels and consonants on license plates, boxes of food, menus, signs etc. Have fun!
