Digraph: sh


Sh is also a digraph. Digraphs are two letters put together to make a new single sound. Today we read "Shelly's New Shoes" by Maria Fleming. We listened for words that contained the sh digraph. Sometimes the sound was found at the beginning of a word (shoes, Shelly). Other times we heard the sound at the end of words (crash, trash).

As you can see in the above picture, we like to put our finger over our mouths as if we are giving the quiet signal. This helps us to remember the sound that the sh digraph makes.
