"Y" can also be a vowel

This week we have been learning about "Y" used as a vowel. There are two sounds "Y" can make, the long "I" and the long "E" sound. We have practiced reading and writing these words as well as sorting them into appropriate groups. Above you can see one of our sorting activities. Below are a few of the words we have come up with on our own.

The long "I" spelled "Y"

try
why

The long "E" spelled "Y"

Great work readers!
